Thanks to you all for this great effort. Though I work full-time, I might have a little time to volunteer this next month until school begins 9/24. Let me know what needs doing in Santa Barbara

Don’t know what I could do to help, but I really feel from the bottom of my heart to the top of my head: he’s the ONLY one who can save America from this horrible, horrible course its on to facism or worse, and most importantly, that he’s the only one who can turn us into the inspiring leaders to literally save our planet!

So, yes, if I were rich, i.e. didn’t have to worry about making money to survive, I’d volunteer most of my time to the task of convincing him to run and supporting him to win! But, since I’m not rich, actually more of a churchmouse in the financial dept., I’m not sure how I can help but please keep me posted and I’ll try!

Sincerely,
Tara

Dear Al:

Me too- count me in! Have you all seen this quote from Reagan’s diaries?

“A moment I’ve been dreading. George brought his ne’re-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I’ll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they’ll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.”

– Ronald Reagan in his recently published diaries, May 17, 1986.

Al Gore- the only one who can clean up the mess and chaos left by the ne’re-do-well…

I hope this is realistic and can be done but this country has gotten orwellian. Big Brother (Bush) is alwase watching. I have faith in Gore but far less in our so called democracy. I belive in this cause however, in a country that is 95% owned by 5% percent of the people some who aren’t even citizens (the Bin Laden family for example) I am hesitant to belive we (the people) have any control over our government and elections. Remember 2000 Gore Won. I will help but its out of our hands and at the mercy of an ever evolving capitalist dictatorship.

I think that Gore is by far the best prepared to do the job – and he has the best probability to win. Hillary is a bland sell-out candidate. If she wins the nomination we all lose, even if she becomes president. She will be the most beatable candidate, that’s why the big name conservatives are backing her. If elected, she will not fight for us, she’ll be in it for herself. her record for the past 6 years makes that very clear.

Al has always been my choice. I have standing with the Santa Clara County Democratic Party and Organization. I can certainly work to get Al on the ballot and would love to do so. I know lots of my friends and Democrats who would sign such a petition.

I am an enthusiastic believer in Gore for Pres who now lives south of the border. We have 400 members of Democrats Abroad in our Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende, many of whom have moved here from California and would love to see Gore be the Demo candidate for Pres. We would work our tails off for him!

I’ve found buttons, bumper stickers, tees, etc. at Cafe Press and DemStore websites.

Promote Al by doing whatever you can to support him and promote his pending candidacy. Most of us work, and we do what we can. This is a most important cause. Donate too if you are able.

I really want Al to know that it isn’t that someone else (Hillary) could win, it is who would be the best candidate and best president!
Run, Al, Run!
I am waiting for a petition, and have several venues that already could have collected many names!
Please send me a petition or tell me where to download one asap.
Thanks,
Susan

Al Gore is the best example of a new generation compassionate leader who is a role model for our young generation. There is no other leader in washington today Like Al Gore. We want Al Gore to run our country to restore American pride and beliefs back into the system.

Bobby Ahmed.

Words cannot express the disgust I feel with the state of our country today and those who are running it. I, too, believe that Al is the only one who can restore sanity, order, clarity, reason and most of all HEART, which has been missing these past seven years. We were robbed, and we must get Al back and on the ballot. I feel sad when I think about America today and the wrong turn our “leaders” have taken. We need Al to get America back on track. When I think that there may be a chance someone will convince him to run, tears well up and I feel this lump in my throat because I once again feel hopeful that maybe we can get our country back for the people.

I will do what I can — just let’s do it!!

I hhave a bumper sticker but would like signs and give me some petitions. We need him in the Whitehouse he’s the only one who can get the support of all of Congress to turn this country from a polluting, defict spending , war mongering country to a green , pro environment, balanced budget or (surplus from the new green technology), peace-keeping country.

…it’s assault…and stop fighting over spelling and let me proof your documents. I would be happy to. I am a writer and editor from the Sacramento area and as far as I am concerned we, as a group, will be more successful if we have a general plan and then delegate, delegate, delegate. From watching the media he, Gore, seems to be pulling back a bit due to Clinton’s lead over Obama, but I am not convinced Clinton can take a Republican candidate in the major election. I KNOW Gore can. (He did before after all.) Let’s DO IT! Where do we start?

We cannot begin collecting signatures until October 8. we must obtain the nominating papers from the local county registrar of voters office. Between now and October 8, we need to focus on increasing our numbers so that gathering the required number of signatures will be easier.

As much as I like Hillary, I think she is unelectable and another 4 years of republican leadership is a repugnant thought. We must get Al to run!

Cheers,

I was a volunteer on the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign and attended President Clinton’s first Inauguration in 1993 (even went to an Inaugural Ball – had a great time!)

I met Al and Tipper and spoke with them during their book tour…they are really nice and have a great sense of humor, and they genuinely care about our country and all of us.

I also worked as UCLA outreach coordinator for General Wes Clark in 2003-04 and later for Kerry-Edwards.

I’m ready to work for Al again!

Al Gore seems to have found his mojo, and this country, and, by extension, the world, desperately needs someone with Al’s vision and experience. So long as he listens to his heart and ignores the idiotic, spineless, amoral political consultants who torpedoed Gore in 2000 by convincing him to choose war-mongering Lieberman as his running mate, I will work tirelessly to get him elected. Please run, Al, and help us begin the slog out of this cesspit that Bush and the republicans have thrown us into. AND FIGHT TO HAVE EVERY VOTE COUNTED OR ELSE ALL OUR WORK IS IN VAIN AND OUR DEMOCRACY IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!

I’m signing up. I’m not ready to accept a candidate who’s certain to be “better than bush.” My CAT would be “better than bush”!
Progressives are dispirited. We voted and elected a “Democratic Congress,” and we’re not one step closer to disengaging from our illegal occupation of Iraq. Here’s something we can do, something that I think will take lots more effort than money, something we can all become enthusiastic about, something that well may change the course of our history, which at this point is heading for oblivion. “We the people” are the grassroots. “We the people” have the power, one plus one plus one plus one, each one reach one.

My dream team would be Gore/Edwards, or Gore/Richardson, or Gore/Obama. Gore/Clinton (no way), Gore/Biden (please, no!).

The fact that Mr. Gore doesn’t really want the job makes him an even more appealing candidate… I’ve always held that anyone that actually wants to be President should be automatically disqualified from holding the office.

Please, Mr. Gore– your country needs you.

I think he would like to be president, but he doesn’t want to run again. It was so awful last time.
It would be wonderful if he didn’t have to run until next spring or summer. I just think all this campaigning so early, jetting around the country polluting the air etc. is obscene.
Does anyone know, legally, how LATE a candidate can enter the race?

Anything in my power to make this a reality.

This is more important than anything else because we’ll all benefit in a large scale if we succeed.

Let’s get together and make it happen.
Commitment is needed folks.

Well, I heard he won’t run. Even though now he’s won the Nobel Peace Prize and has a chance to likely be nominated, and maybe win the presidency.

I’d like to help to get him to change is mind.

If I have time to volunteer some, I will. Just let me know what needs done in Santa Clara county (San Jose, Palo Alto, etc). San Mateo county may also be okay for me to drive over to and help volunteers there.

Thanks for what you’re doing though. It doesn’t hurt to try.

Good luck to us all…

I have been waiting and hoping for a Gore candidacy – he is the best qualified person in the country for the job and he opposed this awful war from the beginning. And, at least half of the nation believe he was elected in 2000 already. He was cheated and we were cheated and are still being cheated by this cynical and consummately evil neo-fascist government. Are there enough signatures from Santa Barbara county to put him on the California ballot? If not, let me know how I can help collect signatures. I would imagine environmental groups such as Sierra, Nature Conservancy, etc. would be fertile grounds.
